Going, Going, Gone!The Family Violence & Sexual Assault Institute will host its 3rd annual Dinner and Silent Auction at the 8th International Conference on Family Violence in San Diego, California, on Friday, September 19, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. The gala affair will feature food and entertainment, wine and beer tasting, music and a live and silent auction. Because the success of the event depends on charitable contributions, we are asking you to make a donation.IDEAS, IDEAS, IDEAS….You might wonder what you can give to the Family Violence Silent Auction or what you can suggest to a friend who might want to make a contribution. Consider the state you live in, every state has some unique items that would be a perfect addition to our auction.Your donation might include a golf vacation package from the Carolinas, a case of wine from California, a wheel of cheese from Wisconsin; cajun treats from Louisiana, or a fun-filled Disney vacation from California or Florida. The sky's the limit. Does your state or city have a winning sports team? Donations of sports memorabilia would be great idea! Do you have local celebrities or sports figures? What could they provide that would be a wonderful auction item? Remember-creativity is the key! Let your imagination run wild! Great foods, memorabilia, weekend getaways, art, jewelry, the list goes on and on. We would like to have an array of items for everyone to bid on, so items large and small are welcome. Proceeds from the auction go to the Tariq Khamisa Foundation and the Family Violence Fund established by FVSAI. This Tariq Khamisa Foundation provides a powerful and proven school-based violence prevention education program-the Violence Impact Forum (VIP) - for 4th - 7th graders to inspire and empower them to say "no" to gangs, guns and violence.
