TSRN plans to benefit the public by making grants to qualified organizations and individuals, which advances TSRN's exempt purposes. Grants will be awarded through an application process, and determined by the TSRN Board in the fourth quarter of the year. The following guidelines will govern the TSRN's proposed activities: Eligibility: TSRN may make distributions only to the following recipients:
Criteria: The Board of Directors of TSRN will select distributees whose purposed activities, in the judgement of the Board of Directors, will further exempt the purposes of TSRN. Distribution and Supervision: TSRN may make distributions to organizations or individuals in the form of grants. Any grantee that is an individual or a non-charitable organization will be required to sign a grant agreement. The agreement will require the grantee to use the funds only for the purposes of the grant, to return any funds not so expended, and to submit reports to TSRN at specified intervals regarding the grantee's progress toward achieving the grant purposes. If TSRN believes that circumstances warrant it, TSRN may require other grantees (such as recipients of grants for specific purposes) to sign grant agreements as well. |

TSRN was originally funded in grass roots fashion through donations by friends, family, and business associates of the Board of Directors. Additional revenue sources are being developed including but not limited to corporate donations and foundations. In August of 1998 we began sending out letters of solicitation to potential members and donors. This simple approach is representative of the ongoing fundraising efforts TSRN will continue. TSRN may also seek to raise funds in a variety of small scale events, such as when we utilized the "Celebrity Dunking Tank" at the 1998 GAVIN Summit (a radio trade magazine convention), ticketed events such as dinners, and possibly the sale of merchandise such as a benefit CD of donated musical performances. We will be making the specific plans for this compact disc fundraising project sometime in 1999. TSRN's purpose will always be primarily to raise funding and public awareness for organizations and individuals working on the front lines to protect threatened and endangered species. At various times, it may earn portions of it's funding from unrelated business activities, such as the sale of compact discs. |
